4th Of July!

In the year 1776 on 4th of July America gained its independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain and became a democratic country. The colonials no longer wanted the rule of the British, they wanted to free themselves. At that time the Congress at Pennsylvania organised a committee to to form a formal document which would acknowledge the British the desire of the Americans of being independent. Thomas Jefferson was empowered to prepare a draft that would state the terms of the committee. Jefferson prepared the draft in absolute secret working for several days and on June 28,1776 he placed the draft infront of the committee. The other members revised, modified, signed the document  and declared their independence on July 2,1776. But officially it was adopted on July 4,1776 and thus America was declared independent.
From that time onwards July 4 is celebrated as the independence day of America. It is the national holiday celebrated all over the country with grandness. Independence Day celebrations often take place outdoors with fireworks and lightings, parades in parks and grounds. Families often celebrate Independence Day by hosting or attending picnics or barbecues and take advantage of the day off and to gather with relatives. Independence Day fireworks are often accompanied by patriotic songs such as the national anthem "The Star-Spangled Banner","God Bless America", "America the Beautiful", "My Country, 'Tis of Thee", "Stars and Stripes Forever", and, regionally, "Yankee Doodle" in northeastern states and "Dixie" in southern states.
